This book is about Hinduism, that is, the Sanatan Dharma, meaning the eternal faith, which is liberal and inclusive, as a way of life. This book has explanations of the Hindu theories of the creation of the universe and the existence of the one Brahman, the ultimate God, and the Trinity. The book informs about the history, growth and development of Hindu thought and its scriptures, with information on its tenets and principles. The ways of worship, how to do puja, the symbols of Hinduism, the festivals and pilgrimages are given too, with the meanings and transliterations of the Gayatri mantra, Aarti [Om jai Jagadeesh harey] and Hanuman Chalisa. There are also pictures of the Gods and Goddesses, plus ancient and modern Hindu temples in India and abroad.

She holds an M.A. in English Literature (1970) and an LLB (1971), and has over 50 years of experience teaching English to children and adults. Since 1992, she has written 800+ articles, stories, and poems, over 200 children’s books, and 15 novels for young adults. A life member of AWIC, she has won multiple national awards, including CBT’s All India Prizes and honors from Tinkle, Family Magazine, and Femina–Aahat. Her work has been published internationally, with one story translated into Japanese and several featured in Atlanta-based publications. Many of her books have appeared on HT Neilson’s Best Seller list, often ranking above renowned authors like Ruskin Bond.
