The Brave Little Major

Little Shivi & Sid came to India to stay with their grandparents, an erstwhile jamindar, and an ex-army officer, who was staying in his haveli at the outskirt of the city. Children were very excited to hear stories from their Dadaji about various episodes of the army.
Shivi, being inquisitive, started going around the estate in suspicious way as if he is also in the army. On this, his Dadaji started calling him little major.
He found out something funny going around the estate and he was on his investigation. What was the funny thing? Why was he suspicious of the happening around the haveli?
