Mrs. Rungeen Singh is an M.A.in English Literature and LLB. (Law) She has more than 50 years of experience in teaching English to children and grown-ups. She has been actively writing since 1992. More than 800 articles, middles, short stories & poems have been published in various English Magazines and Newspapers. She has written 200 books. The various categories include Books for Toddlers which are Read Aloud Books, which are useful for Parents & Books for Children, Young Adults like teenagers & novels for Adults. Her aim is to use the psychological understanding, thus imbibed, to help children in their growing up years through her poems, stories and articles, without being judgmental or preachy, to help children think out and deal confidently with the many problems that they may have to face in the modern scenario. Her love for children shines through her understanding of their psyche She is a life member of ‘Association for Writers and Illustrators for Children (AWIC). In the competition of CBT (Children’s Book trust) of 2008 one book “The Bubbly Drop” won her the second All India prize. In the ‘All India Competition 2009 of CBT, 3 books have won prizes and 2 more books have been published. She has won a prize twice in the Tinkle Magazine Contest and the first prize in the All-India Contest of the “Family” magazine. She also won a prize in the Femina–Aahat (TV) competition for a ‘horror’ story. One short story was translated into Japanese through AWIC. One article was published in a newspaper in Atlanta, USA. Many stories and articles have been published in the e-magazine, (kavitachibber.com) of Kavita Chibber, from Atlanta (USA). Some of her books have been listed regularly some years back, in the HT Neilson Best Seller Books for Children by Indian Publishers. She treasures this achievement because she was sometimes rated No.1 while Ruskin Bond was No. 2 or vice-versa. Ruskin Bond is the most established & renowned writer of books for children.
