M.A. in English Literature (1970) and has also done her LLB. (Law) in 1971

Has 50 years of experience in teaching English to children and grown-ups and has also been actively writing since 1992

Has more than 800 articles, short stories, poems to her credit with most published in various English Magazines and Newspapers. Has also written more than 200 books for children and 15 novels for Adults and Young Adults (Grown Ups)

Is a life member of the ‘Association for Writers and Illustrators for Children’ (AWIC)

In CBT’s (Children’s Book Trust) authors’ competition of 2008, her book “The Bubbly Drop” won her the Second All India Prize. The following year, in the ‘All India Competition 2009’ of CBT, 3 books won prizes and 2 more were published.

Has won a prize twice in the Tinkle Magazine Contest and the First Prize in the All India Contest of the “Family” Magazine. She also won a prize in the Femina – Aahat (TV) competition for a ‘Horror’ story.

One short story was translated into Japanese through AWIC. One article was published in a newspaper in Atlanta, USA and many of her stories and articles have been published in the e-magazine ‘kavitachibber.com’ in Atlanta, USA

Some of her books have featured regularly, in the HT Neilson Best Seller Books for children by Indian Publishers. Once in the five books given in that list 5 books were hers. She treasures this achievement because often her book was above a book of Ruskin Bond, one of India’s most renowned author.
